YACA Animation and Comic Association (YACA = Young Animation and Comic Association), as a non-governmental organization, started in 2000 and was formally established in April 2003. Mr. Deng Guojian is the Chairman of the Founding Committee. 

The Association is the first legitimate civil animation organization registered with the government in Guangzhou, and the first animation association established in Southern China. It is also authorized and recognized by UNESCO in 2004.

The nature of the association and the purpose of its establishment are a non-profit-making social organization with Chinese culture as its main object and other cultural exchanges as well as Guangzhou's administrative region as its main area, facing domestic and international exchanges and composed of a large number of cartoon enthusiasts.

The Association's business involves professional animation exhibitions, cartoon image design, creative display, original cartoon peripheral products, original cartoon display, COSPLAY performance, sound performance, Vision Rock performance, performance agency, website operation, website design and planning and execution of various celebration public relations activities.

The business unit in charge of the Association is Guangzhou Yuexiu District Federation of Literary and Art Circles, which is responsible for daily supervision, guidance and management.

Under the correct guidance of Guangzhou Yuexiu District Literature and Art Federation, after years of hard development of self-financing and self-financing, the Association has laid a solid foundation for the development of China's animation culture industry from a folk perspective: the Association currently has 33 directors, senior animation industry activists from all over China, and has rich animation culture and art experience; It has absorbed more than 300 powerful animation societies (accounting for 2/3 of Guangzhou area); More than 6,000 associate members; More than 1,000 full members; More than 25 large-scale animation cultural events have been successfully held. Guangzhou has more than 60,000 professional animation lovers loyal to the Association, and the number of participants in various activities and exhibitions organized by the Association has accumulated to more than 500,000.

The series of animation activities with the "YACA" brand as the main content include: "YACA Animation Original Year Selection", "YACA I Want Animation for a Summer", "YACA Animation Broadening Guangzhou" and "YACA Plays Around Animation Party", etc., which have become pioneer benchmarks for animation activities in South China.

In August 2004, UNESCO officially authorized and included the "YACA Animation Broadening Guangzhou" series of activities in its international "Global Dialogue" activities. The Association became the first non-governmental corporate body recognized by UNESCO in China. The animation activities organized by the Association will also be an important part of the "Global Dialogue" activities of the United Nations, which marks that the "YACA Animation Association" has officially led China's original animation culture to the world.

In 2006 and 2007, the Association hosted the second and third Guangzhou competition competitions of the China International Animation Festival "China COSPLAY Super Ceremony". The only team selected and sent by YACA Animation Association on behalf of Guangzhou region won the "Super Grand Ceremony Silver Award with more than 10 people" and the national highest honor, "Grand Ceremony Diamond Gold Award".

In addition, the large-scale award ceremony organized by the Association has successively held and awarded a number of awards representing the advanced level of animation culture and art in South China, such as "New Artist Award for Original Animation", "Annual Award for Original Animation Selection", "TOPCOSER Award", etc., to encourage and explore outstanding local cartoon creators, promote local original development, continuously supply potential talents to manufacturers and animation industry organizations, provide a platform for them to publish and work, continuously improve the industrial development of animation culture, and promote the development of local animation culture industry.
